FYI:
Ljubljana/Maribor, 12 February - Slovenians will not have to travel to Vancouver to partake in Olympic festivities. Instead, Ljubljana and Maribor will bring the Olympic atmosphere to Slovenia with a two-week celebration of sports and fun.

The centre of Ljubljana will be abuzz every day from 5 PM, bringing an array of sports and entertainment activities free of charge. A big-screen TV will also be put up and all performances of Slovenian athletes and other big events will be broadcast live.

For a trip down memory lane, visitors will get to hang out with skiing legends Bojan Krizaj, Primoz Peterka, Mateja Svet and Boris Strel, according to the Slovenian Olympic Committee.

A special challenge will be a long-jump competition in skiing boots with former skier Jure Kosir.

A curling sheet will be put up in Preseren Square providing a rare opportunity for people to try a sport that is very popular in Canada.

On 3 March Ljubljana will also host the main reception for the homecoming Olympic team.

yes, we went to that carnival today.
everyone was dressed up, more like Halloween than Valentine's Day.
And there was a band that sang
"sweet home Ljuljana".
thanks for letting us know what it was all about because we did not when we were there.
